"Let me participate in the rise of Egypt" .. Thus came the reply, Dr. Ahmed Zewail, Nobel Laureate in science to a question about the possibility of his candidacy in the upcoming presidential election, he also affirmed the existence of many Egyptians eligible for a number of leadership positions that was hidden in a black box over the last thirty years.

He described during a lecture the Egyptian revolution at the American University in Cairo as an "ideal revolution" that served as a radical shift in the nature of the Egyptian status, because the revolution was not tribal or religious, but a peaceful revolution that represented the unity of the people of Egypt.

About the development of Egypt Zewail mentioned several essios that may contribute to the Egyptian Renaissance, first of which is the political dimension, which is represnted in the security and stability in Egypt, then he talked about the economic dimension, which he described as the major problem of the country, that we can not overcome except after turning the 85 million Egyptians to a real scientific competence to solve real problems in Egypt.

He stessed during the seminar, which hundreds demonstrated to attend, that resolving the core issues in Egypt shoul pass through the restructuring of education and scientific research and the existence of a clear vision of the educational system to raise the efficiency of the Egyptian.

About  Zewail Scientific City, he said that it is a national project for the scientific renaissance that he did not dare to implement except only after gaining confidence in the new system, stressing that the city would be administratively and financially independent with a board of Trustees of global and local nationalities, including six Nobel Laureates, and from Egypt, Dr. Mohammed Ghoneim, the expert of kidney surgery in the Middle East and Dr. Mostafa El-Sayed the international expert in the treatment of cancer using gold cells.

Zewail explicitly announced that there is no room for mediation in Zewail Science and Technology City, but it will be the standard basic scientific excellence, and financing the city will use inputs from several sources, whether international or Arab and the Egyptian government and the Egyptian people will contribute to as well through a bank account for donation of money which is called the "City of Zewail Science and Technology, No. "100 100" so that we can meet the cost required for the city which might reach up to one billion dollars.

In regard to his opinion on the draft of the development corridor, proposed by Dr. Farouk El-Baz Director of Center of Remote Sensing at Boston University, said Zewail "I can not judge the project," and affirmed the presence of a group of scientists who will evaluate national projects and send substantive reports on their usefulness to decision-makers in Egypt.

About research areas that will be on the priority list of the city, Zewail said they include the field of solar energy and water in order to develop a solution for water problem in Egypt, and other areas such as Biotechnology and Nanotechnology.

The hundreds of young people demonstrated in front of the headquarters of the American University of liberalization in a bid to attend the symposium, chanting "Ya want to go into a scientist" after the university administration refrained from entering the more of them after the completion of the hall seats.
